Clarification

Martha's Mom here. Yes, I went "there" and drew attention to Martha's increasing, um, "girth".

Ooooh puuuudge!

Only Mom didn't say "Pudge." She said THE word, the big one, the queen-mother of dirty words, the "F-dash-dash" word!

burrr!

Baby, it's cold out there! A couple of weeks ago it was in the 70s and now it's hoodie weather. Mom said it's going to be a long winter. I hope she's wrong and that spring is here before I know it.

Here's a picture of me and my newest minion. I guess I'll have to steal his body heat to stay warm!

The beagle, er puppy, I mean baby...

has landed! Seamus Michael was born October 16, weighing in at 6lbs, 14oz and was 19 1/2" long. We're all adjusting to each other and I think it's just a matter of time before Seamus learns that he is just another one of my minions.

Recycled Howl-o-ween

It should be well known by now that Mom is L A Z Y. I mean, seriously. It's embarrassing. Anyway, it doesn't look like we're getting a new photo for this Halloween, so we've recycled last year's. We'd appreciate it if you would all vote for us in the Petco contest.

And for those of you on Puppy Watch, 2008, only 3 more weeks left until the new puppy arrives. All I know is I'm not puppysitting.

Arrrrr!

It be Talk Like a Pirate Day, Mateys!

It's hot!

It is hot again! It had cooled off to really nice temperatures and we all got to play outside for a few days in a row. Now it's back to 90 degrees so we have to mostly stay inside in the air conditioning. bummer.

Here is a photo of me after I made the floki rug nice and comfy.

And the new puppy will be in here in 9 weeks. Can you believe it?! He has more clothes than me, which I'm not very happy about. Mom & Dad let me pick this out though and I'm going to make him wear it *all the time*! You can get it from our friends over at Littlebeasts.com

I've also decided to not make any more promises about being on here more and visiting my friends. My Mom is super lazy. I think I need to find a new one. Any takers?

Monday, July 7, 2008

Um, yeah

So we've all been beyond lazy. So lazy, I missed my beloved's Adoption Day. I don't know how he'll ever forgive me. And all my blogging friends that I haven't visited in furever! *sob* I hope you all don't hate me. I promise to do a better job of keeping up with everyone.

BTW, here is more evidence Mom has gone off the deep end. I sure hope October gets here soon so that little runt can deal with her insanity.

Ho hum

That's how I feel right now. It's been really, really, really hot and humid so we've all been lounging around inside the air conditioning being extremely lazy. Yesterday we had a big storm, so big it scared me, and I never get scared. I had to go hide under the bed because I thought I was going to be like Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz. My Dad had me come out and Mom held me until it was over. Then we didn't have power for like 15 hours. It was crazy.

Also, we all found out yesterday that the new puppy is going to be a boy. I guess I can't really name him "Martha, Jr., Second Best" so I'm thinking of going with "Poof".

Here's an old photo of me but it showcases how I feel right now - I give the weather the big stinkeye!

oh. my. dog.

please. make. them. stop. please.

Mom, Dad and Grandma went shopping for the new puppy. Nothing. That's what I got. And then someone said, "Oh, no, Martha. We bought you a stroller so you don't have to walk." Seriously. They think this is funny. It's not. I'm moving to Minnesota to be with Ikes because I know his 'rents would never pull this crap.

p.s. The photos were taken by my Dad. They turned out really well considering he is not a photog. Mom said he's learning. I still hate them both right now.

I'm a winner

OMD you guys! I was the weekly winner in Sophie & Dixie's Modeling Contest. I am so very honored! There were so many wonderful photos and so much tuff competition!

I feel pretty!

Oh so pretty!

Don't I look absolutely lovely in the clothes Ikes picked for me?

I told Mom she is done being lazy! Next week we're going to get back to blogging and visiting the sites for all my blogging friends. I told her that's the way it's gonna be, whether she likes it or not.

On another note, my Mom's friend, Corinne, sent us some really neat gifts. Mom got an awesome candle and a funny card and I got treats and Loofah dogs and pink tennis balls! This photo was taken from Mom's new Canon s5. She wanted a P&S for when the new puppy arrives because Dad's too incompetent to use the 1d, er I mean it'll be easier to handle when the new puppy arrives.

Presents from Ikes!

So my husband, Ikes, totally sent me the best gifts evah!

I can smell Ikes!

Isn't this card just the bestest??!!

This is my new favorite toy - it's Ikes' heart. Here I am beating Stewage over the head with it.

There was also a pink coat and a beautiful blue ruffled dress. My Mom's been soooo lazy lately and she wouldn't let me pose for pics but said she would get some next week.

I love you, Ikes!!

70 degrees

Yes, you read that right! It was a perfect day today. The sun was so bright, I really needed my Doggles, which have been misplaced. I told Mom I want new pink ones with the skull & crossbones anyway.

Finally!

OMD you guys! It is finally SPRING! Can you believe it?! It's like 60 degrees today and sunny, sunny, sunny! It's the most awesomest day evah! Mom, including her parasite, Dad, the hounds, Simple Stew and me all went outside and we played and played and played. Mom said we could go for a walk later this afternoon too.

Mom said I look like a bunny rabbit in this picture (a real rabbit, not Bunny Beagle).

Here I am being athletic. Mom always laughs when people say little dogs are "fou fou dogs" because I'm such a natural outdoorsdog.

The Stewge and I played lots of tug with a toy that my friend, Pepito, left here when I had my Halloweenie party in October.

Here I am beating the crap out of him. I keep trying to break him but he seems to be pretty well made.

My husband, Ikes, tagged me to make a wish.

The Rules:

1. Think about what it is that you want more than anything, what your heart's desire and fondest wish, and what it is that you would wish for if you were to see the above wishing star flame across the sky.

2. Right click and SAVE the blank graphic above.

3. Use a graphics program of your choice and place your wish on the picture.

4. Post the Make a Wish Meme and your wishing star on your blog along with these rules.

5. Tag as many people/dogs/cats/hammies as you like so that there can be wishing stars all across the Blogosphere and ask them to please link back to Linda so that we can see what wishes other have made and share those wishes with others.

I tag anyone who has a wish!

OMD! Not again!

We all woke up to this:

Mom said my expression pretty much sums it up.

On happier news, Mom's going to have a puppy! Bunny is really excited because she keeps talking about how human puppies are really messy and are constantly dropping food and Bunny's gonna eat and eat and eat until she explodes. Does anyone know if this is true? The puppy won't be here until the end of October so it's gonna be a long summer. Mom is already kinda crabby. She'd better get over it and quick!

Happy Spring!

Well, Mom claims it is spring. I don't really believe her.

Happy Birthday, Martha!

Martha’s Mom here…please bear with me and my ramblings on my dogter’s third birthday. I think anyone who writes a blog for their dog, er, helps their dog write a blog, is officially a “Crazy Dog Person”. I know *you*, dear friends and feller bloggers, will understand my thoughts and feelings about a little 15lb Boston Terrier who has taken over our home.

When Martha came to stay with us, the last thing we needed was another dog. We already had several and I was just ending my rescue days after dealing with all the assholes I could handle, er, to focus on graduating college and happenings in our lives. However, the minute my husband and I held that little bundle of worms, it was all over. Martha was here to stay and free to take over our lives.

Little did we understand the dramatic impact such a little Terriorist would have on our lives. Not only did she give me scabies, she opened up a part of myself that no dog has ever done before. Sure, I have always been a dog lover, having had dogs since the time of conception and all throughout my years. I loved dogs and they were members of the family, treated with love and respect and admiration. But they weren’t “little children in furry coats”. Martha has changed all that.

Martha has personality beyond any dog (and most humans) I have ever met. I know there will never be another Martha in this world and I am eternally grateful that she is mine! She is bossy and nosy and uber intelligent and bossy and affectionate and playful and social and bossy and just everything a dog should be. She makes us laugh and smile and talk in weird “Martha” voices and refer to her as our “dogter”.

So, on Martha’s third birthday, I wish that everyone has an opportunity to have a Martha or two in their lives. And I wish all dogs in this world have a chance to live The Life of Martha. And most of all, I wish that our days with Martha are numerous and continue to be filled with laughter.

Happy birthday, Martha!

Please enjoy some of my favorite photos from this year.

St. Paddy's Day Loofas!

OMD you guys! You must get your hoomans to take you to Petco! They have St. Paddy Loofas and they rock. They also have Easter Bunny loofas. Go get them NOW!

Bunny & Stoopid Stewage thought they could take mine from me.

Not so much.

Please ignore the bump on my head. That's my histiocytoma still. Mom calls me UniMartha, which I don't think is very nice.

Birthday Month 2008

Let the festivities begin! Because my 'rents don't know the exact date of my birth, they celebrate 31 days of Martha - the whole month of March! I hope you enjoy my birthday month and that you do something fun and exciting in honor of *me*! March 12 is the day the 'rents have "officially" choosen as my birthday so I get even more pressies then. I am hoping I can convince them to celebrate 365 days of Martha next year but Mom claims every day is already a celebration of me.

More snow

We're getting blasted with another 5-9" of snow today. Then it's supposed to get freezing cold here tomorrow. You all know how much I love snow but I'm really ready for Spring.

I do have to say that it's pretty awesome to beat the tar out of that little dork and shove him into the snow. Mom and Dad were laughing their butts off watching me make Stew eat the yellow snow.
